Upcoming Poetry Events

A great way to build interest in POL and engage your students in poetry - especially if you haven't yet started your curriculum - is to encourage students to attend poetry events happening around them. Here are a few events and activities that have come across our desks:

3RD ANNUAL YOUTH POETRY HOOT - Wednesday, Jan. 6th from 7-9PM
Put on by the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Program, Hoot Night is held the first Wednesday of the month at Cafe Espresso, in Portsmouth. This month will be YOUTH Hoot Night and will feature an hour of youth readings and then an hour open mic. Click here to read more.

THE POL STUDENT POETRY CLINIC - Saturday, Jan. 9th from 9-12PM
Register TODAY
The clinic will be this Saturday, Jan. 9th at Kingswood Arts Center in Wolfeboro, from 9-12pm. This event is open to ALL students and FREE to attend. Students should bring at least one poem they are working on.
